And suddenly, life is worth living again. Well, at least till 3rd July 2017. The mightiest of all the true, dirty, lowlife thug punk rockers will play a show in Prague. As soon as I've heard of that, I knew the time of my Euro-vacation has just been decided. There's no way I'm gonna miss this.
"Take the MC5, Motörhead and AC/DC high on various amphetamines and you get the dirty, violent punk assault of this Seattle band." Raw, fast, loud as fuck, straight-forward, no bullshit rock'n'roll.
I loved these guys since I was seventeen. They have been touring or just being a band in general quite sporadically since the good ol' nineties, so I never even dreamed of seeing them live. Yet they always have been on my ultimate wish-to-see-live list.
And now I know I will see them. I will fly across the whole planet to do so. And it's gonna be worth every damn penny!

I can’t get enough of this record lately.

It’s a nice example of music taste progression. A year or so back I found this thing too chaotic, non-melodic and uneasy to listen to. Now it’s exactly my cup of tea. It hit the right spot at the moment. All the melodies (and there’s plenty!) and sweet guitar work just unveiled themselves to me. I must have played it more than thirty times over the last month. Tracks that stand out for me are Doomsayer, A Paradox with Flies and Tunguska. But it’s hard to pick some, the whole damn thing is a masterpiece in my opinion!

They gonna play at 007, Prague on 10th of May this year. Go see them!

Record of the day

I once started this blog as a form of mental exercise. To increase my ability to express myself in written form. You may disagree with me on this, but I hope at this point I can humbly say I improved a bit compared to my clumsy & chaotic first efforts. 

Anyway, “small steps but moving forward” – next step will be trying to write “Record of the day” in English. Also, I usually write it during my lunchbreak at work and my work-computer does not have all the funny Czech letters. And to write a text in Czech without being able to use those really annoys me. 

Let’s get down to business though. Today I’m listening to Maserati’s brilliant Inventions For The New Season. So please, enjoy a bit of prime instrumental post/prog psychedelic rock with me!

King Buzzo! Král drnčících kytarovejch pražců, surreálnejch a sarkastickejch textů jakožto tvrdý alternativní muziky. Člověk, kterej dalekosáhle ovlivnil spoustu výbornejch muzikantů a dal mi a světu tolik a tolik zajímavý muziky k objevovani. A navíc vypadá jako Levák Bob! Jeho titánskou kapelu Melvins miluju až za hrob a taky tu na ně brzo přijde řada.
Dneska ale už asi po stopadesatýsedmý sjíždim Buzzovu sólovou akustickou desku This Machine Kills Artists a stále nechápu...
